Information You Send
Search Terms
When a name, location, or other search detail is entered into a search tool, that request may be sent to the third-party provider that powers the tool. Carroll County Inmate Population does not keep its own separate log of those search terms.
Messages
If you send an email or contact message, the information in that message may be kept long enough to read it, respond, and maintain a record of the exchange. It is not shared outside the organization unless a valid legal requirement calls for disclosure.
Automatic Site Data
Like most websites, this site may collect technical data when a page loads. That information helps measure performance, spot errors, reduce misuse, and understand how visitors move through the pages.
- Internet Protocol address.
- Browser type and browser version.
- Device type and operating system.
- Pages viewed and time spent on pages.
- Referring website, when available.
- Date and time stamps.
Cookies
Cookies and similar tools may be used to understand site use and support advertising or analytics functions. A browser can block or delete cookies, although some parts of the site or partner tools may work differently when cookies are disabled.
How Data Is Used
- To keep pages available, stable, and reasonably fast.
- To send search requests to the partner service that handles them.
- To learn which Carroll County custody and record pages are useful to visitors.
- To diagnose broken links, page errors, and other technical problems.
- To support advertising that may be based on general visitor interests.
Outside Websites
This site links to sheriff pages, jail rosters, Indiana public-records resources, Indiana MyCase, the Indiana Department of Correction, VINELink, BOP, ICE, and third-party search tools. Once a visitor leaves this site, the privacy notice and data practices of the outside site control that visit.
Advertising partners may also use their own systems to measure activity or show interest-based ads across websites. Those tracking and advertising choices are handled by the partner, not by the Carroll County Inmate Population site.
Who May Receive Data
Personal data is not sold as a standalone product. It may be available to limited parties that help operate, measure, protect, or legally maintain the site.
- Search partners that process submitted search requests.
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and page use.
- Advertising networks that serve or measure ads.
- Law enforcement, courts, or government bodies when required by a valid legal order.
Security Practices
Reasonable security practices are used to protect information handled by the site. No website, server, email account, analytics tool, or internet-connected service can be promised as fully secure or immune from unauthorized access.
Users Under 18
This site is intended for adults. It does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If a minor submitted personal information, a parent or guardian may request deletion.
Your Data Rights
- Ask for a copy of personal data held by the site.
- Request correction of inaccurate personal data.
- Ask that personal data be deleted when legally and technically possible.
- Opt out of certain types of processing where an opt-out right applies.
